Ladylike CosmoPrep

I decided to try my hand at the bootcut trousers and flowy
top formula. I rooted around in my closet and dug up my GAP bootcut trousers in
navy. I dug up my SE Pettys since I’d paired them with the GAP bootcuts before.
I almost got stumped on the flowy top – I wanted an intense color in particular.
I was a little afraid it wouldn’t happen then BINGO I found it! Earlier this
year, I bought a lovely linen cobalt blue sweater from J. Crew.  It’s flowy, and perfect for this
silhouette. I thought a white belt a la Angie would set off this tonal palette
and bookend the Pettys. Then to really give the Angie effect, I added a crisp
white shirt under the sweater.

Can I say I simply couldn’t wait to put this on?! I felt
like a kid waiting on the first day of school.

Tonight was unusually muggy, but that did not stop DH and I from having a special dinner to celebrate our latest good news. I put this outfit together earlier in this post. I only changed the tee to black -- I think it works better with the bright red lip (Mochi once wrote me a script for more red in my outfits and I took her up on it). Let me know what you think. I liked this outfit -- celebratory but not overly precious. I'm wearing:

Well today's outfit including shoes is blue -- my favorite color. The good thing is it's not a matchy-matchy combination, more like layering different tones and textures. My shoes are a shiny patent ombre blue, cropped trousers in a woven blue, jacket in deep navy, and shirt in a textured sky blue. I loved this outfit. It is as androgynous as my body will allow as opposed to as androgynous as I like.

Well, it was muggy and gray today but I was singing "sunshine lollypops rainbows and lemon drops..." to myself. This is another one of my favorite dresses topped off with a cardi. I had this dress tailored to fit me earlier this year and it was worth every penny. Wearing a dress makes getting dressed so quick and easy in the early mornings. I'm wearing:

Indian summer has arrived in my neck of the woods. So I have had to revive some outfits from earlier this year.

Yesterday I wore my favorite blue cardi and today I'm wearing my favorite dress.

I am still reeling from the news and eagerly making plans for a house party in the next 2 weeks. Happy Wednesday!

So this outfit did not come from a capsule. I was inspired by teal black and white as a color palette. This outfit has all the things I love, color, lace, and a classic silhouette.  I hope you all like it as much as I do. I even got the thumbs up from DH on this one.
