Burgundy jacket happiness

Today I volunteered with my local bar association completing basic estate planning documents for civil servants. I felt that smart casual was the perfect level of dress given that I was one of the professionals preparing documents today.
Slightly off topic I must say I am shocked at how popular burgundy is this year especially since I was in love with berry tones LAST fall. I'm just glad I have plenty of dark red in my wardrobe already. My new color combo crush is navy with lavender.
Back to today's outfit -- I am a little disappointed because the picture is slightly out of focus but I love the mix of colors patterns and textures in this outfit. I will be wearing this again.

I'm wearing:
Burgundy faux leather jacket
Old Navy long sleeved white tee
Apt. 9 cheetah scarf
BR flocked skinny jeans
Vera Wang silver python ballet flats.

Love the burgundy with cheetah! I can't see the flocking on my tablet but it must add to the richness of your outfit.

Yeah Joy, that's what I meant by slightly out of focus. The image came out much smaller than normal as a result. The flocking with the cheetah print added a lot of depth; here's a better picture of these jeans showing the flocking detail. In these pictures my jeans just look black rather than a rich shade of navy. I think I need to adjust my camera settings :-(

You are looking good DayVies ^_^ And navy and lavendar sounds delicious! Fantastic outfit too! The scarf adds fun to the outfit.

Firstly, I hope your gorgeous girl is thriving and you are settling well in to motherhood. Did you have mixed emotion leaving her to do your volunteer work today? I agree with Joy....the burgundy with the cheetah is a winning combination. Nice look.

DEB - Motherhood is going very well. I have adjusted to less sleep. I am just happy that I am guaranteed 6 or 7 hours at night even if it's broken up into 3 and 4 hour chunks. No mixed emotions leaving DD at home with DH for 6 hours (he's more than capable). I think I'll have mixed emotions about leaving her when I start a new job and I have to leave her with someone outside of my family.

Like you, I was so excited about the berry and wine tones last fall, and I'm looking forward to wearing them again this year. (I love wine reds whether they're on trend or not!). So this outfit is really lovely to me. The cheetah scarf and similar shoes are such fresh additions to the burgundy, navy, and white palette. I'll be looking forward to your navy and lavender inspirations.

Gorgeous outfit, DayVies. You were glowing before and during your pregnancy, and still are!

Awesome that you were able to have the chance to break up your routine while your husband enjoyed the wee one. Three hour chunks were my definition of good sleep with a newish baby in the house, too.

Very nice! Love rich fall colors against a white tee.

The cheetah scarf looks gorgeous with the burgundy jacket, and set against the backdrop of the white tee, the colors "pop." I love those flocked jeans every time I see them!

I like this color combination for fall, and the light color of the shoes is a good touch. The whole look works well as smart casual for a legal clinic type activity.

Fabulous outfit! Perfect for the occasion and such a great transitional look -- autumnal  yet fresh.

Wow Love this, wish Fall would arrive so I could copycat this!

Great fall outfit and YLF DV! And what a lucky girl you are to have so many pieces in the trediest color of the season!

Glorious. You are Queen of creative colour combinations. Unexpected or untypical pairings are something I'm always admiring on the ladies I see on the streets (and here), but as I'm narrowing down my personal colour scheme I'll live vicariously through you from now on ;-)
