Hail to the Orange Hail to the Blue

The title of this thread was lifted from my Alma Mater. It's the opening lines to the school song as I happen to be wearing school colors. I just realized yesterday was the anniversary of my college graduation many moons ago.

I just happened to wear this outfit to an event yesterday afternoon. Afterward DH and I enjoyed a casual dinner out. (Yay! no cooking!) I really like the pops of red-orange against the white and blue. I also think the spectator-like caps at the toe of my shoes are a modern twist on a classic look.

I'm wearing:

  • BR tipped sweater in navy and cream
  • ON cami in red-orange
  • LOFT bootcut maternity jeans
  • Kenneth Cole tote in red-orange
  • Isabel Toledo for Payless kitten heels
Happy Sunday! Thanks for looking

The 1st thing I noticed was the pop of color on your shoes! How fab that they pick up the lovely color of your shirt. YLF

Yeah, this was one of those outfits that magically came together 20 minutes before I put it on. I'd never worn these pieces together it just seemed to be kismet.

so ladylike!! - love the color combo and pearls just POP against the orange - that sneaky little toe cap is awesome!!!  you inspired me to assemble my collegiate colors sometime this week - Go Green!! Go White!!

The Red and Black in me is cringing at the colors in your title. Please tell me your mascot isn't a reptile. :D You look fab in orange and blue. And I love the tips of your shoes! It's a little extra accent that makes your outfit that much more awesome.

Great color combo! I love how the orange is picked up in a few different spots. And the tipped cardi works so well...seems to "tone down" the orange.

I wore some school colors today too...but they were those of our rival in high school! It was hard for me to put green and yellow together, but I did it, and I'm still alive. :^)

K - have no fear our mascot, if you can call it that, is the block letter I. We're neither Hoosiers nor Hawkeye's.

Oh good. I was afraid you might be a Gator when you started talking about orange and blue.

I love orange and blue! And the tips of your shoes are kind of sassy. (And we've had this discussion before, but yellow and blue is another story.....)

You have a remarkable way of making things that would look sloppy on me (like sweaters) look absolutely perfect on you. Love the pearls and the peak of bright nails!

Fun! I can't resist puzzles, think the answer is Illinois!

And you look great in this outfit...really nice use of color.

My school colors were blue and gold, I'll mull this over for outfit planning :-)

Another fabulous outfit! You look positively radiant in that color.

dustt - YES I attended a Big 10 school. Lots of school spirit but not enough to sit through any sporting event ;-) (I can't resist... "This is for SPARTA!!!!")

gardenchick - YES you win the utter gratification of knowing you guessed correctly. I loved my time there. I was involved in some of everything -- I definitely had a well-rounded college experience.
