I love a floral flutter sleeve

This blouse is from Banana Republic I added it to my wardrobe about 2 years ago. I of course love the colors, v neck and flutter sleeve.

I am amazed at how long some of my standard fit blouses are. I've said many times on the forum that I have a short torso. As a result many standard fit blouses are nearly tunics on me not because I'm short but because there just isn't must space between my shoulders and hips. I'm not complaining because if I weren't pregnant I'd just belt the excess and keep it moving. The advantage to these super long tops is that they work beautifully at covering my expanding belly. I can't remember who it was suggested that I buy clothing for tall women to avoid maternity clothes since the longer lengths would cover my belly, but she was right in theory. I just don't need to go all the way to tall to get the same benefit.

So I'm doing more blues and greens today accented by yellow. I love this color combination and it was perfect for today's pleasant temps in the low 60's.

I'm wearing:

  • BR flutter sleeve blouse
  • J Crew cardigan
  • ON maternity BF jeans
  • teal scarf (World Market accessories)
  • tan lace ballet flats
  • Yellow Liz Claiborne tote
Thanks for looking and Happy Thursday!

Throwing out a cheer from the short waisted fan club! Lovely, convenient discovery :) Color combo is so sunny and perfect for spring. You look radiant!

Very pretty pattern - love how you have it with the scarf!

love the blue & green - and so smart to use the long shirts to your advantage!! - I'm just the opposite DV - I've got an extraordinarily long torso - so to get shirts to cover my preggo belly back in the day I had to resort to Men's tall shirts!! - So happy you don't have to go that route!!

So pretty!  I just love the pattern on it.

I have a really long torso and short little legs, so I am very jealous you can keep wearing your beautiful tops!

I love how colorful you are! And it's fantastic that you can still wear your regular clothes just styled a little differently.

Ah, yesterday was a whirlwind of activity. DH and I went to a film screening then out to dinner and just that morning I had an early Dr.'s appointment. Whew!
I felt a little out of place because I didn't feel quite up on par with everyone else's level of dress attending the screening - this felt a little too casual. However, I did not spend too much time kicking myself because I had the chance to change I just couldn't think of anything in time. The show must go on!

I think this is a fabulous outfit. I love all the touches of color you've added - blue, green, yellow - they all look fantastic with the floral shirt.

Such a pretty shirt and cardi combo! I love what your bright yellow bag does for this outfit. I admire your "show must go on" approach--what's to be gained by kicking ourselves, right?

*High five* fellow short torso Fabber!

Love the green color on you - great casual outfit.

  • Janet replied 9 years ago

You look so pretty! I like that top, and the teal/green/yellow combo is very nice and springlike.

Another high five from a fellow short-torso sister. When I was being fitted for my new bike, the bike shop owner actually commented on how he had to adjust the handlebars to compensate for the lack of reach I have, considering how long my legs are. I sighed like, "Yeah, I know."

  • Day Vies replied 9 years ago

Wee! I didn't know who shared my short torso issue on the forum. Thanks Shannon and Janet for sharing!

Janet - I can relate to the ridiculously SHORT reach. I wonder if I need that adjustment on my mountain bike. My arms ache after a long ride. With regard to reaching for everyday things I am at a loss in my kitchen without a stool or step ladder or DH with his longer arms ;-).

I LOVE the colour combo with the green, blue, and yellow. I am from the opposite spectrum with a crazy long torso....ugh

Lovely fresh and springy color combo, DV! I like that the floral is a green print, very fun. Good on you for moving on and enjoying the show. I need to be better about that.
