I think I did OK...

Today, well I wish I'd gotten more done. I went to the bank to make a deposit but left behind the very check I wished to deposit.  It doesn't help that my bank is a small community bank situated across town from me. This mishap did not stop me from running the rest of my errands. I just find it inefficient (and maddening). I guess I have an excuse to get dolled up and try again tomorrow.

I love this skirt but because of its texture (the pattern is stitched in) I usually draw a blank on coordinating colors. I think the pattern throws me off (I'm still trying to master patterns). I got this skirt about 6 years ago and for some reason I like it with purples plums, pinks and violets. For that reason I chose this origami tee in red-violet. I also wanted to play around with different textural elements in the skirt, the tee and the belt. I think I did OK.  The whole outfit is from Kohl's with the exception of the belt and shoes which are from Target.  Let me know what you think or if you have any better ideas for this skirt.

Oh, man, I hate cheques because I leave them all over the place too! Once I put it in a library book and returned it! Had to ask for a new cheque :p

I really love this skirt/top (and fabulous belt) combo on you - it's so fun and cheerful, and I think that's the kind of person you are!

I really like the textural component to this skirt, and is it a bit heavier? I can see it with the same belt, a crisp white shirt and tights with boots in the fall. Have you ever tried pairing it with mustard? Not the food product either ;)

    :D

Lyn -- I love the mustard suggestion. I think I have just the sweater too. I can also try it with a crisp white shirt. THANK YOU!
The skirt is not heavy. It's lined but it's linen I think the stitching helps keep it from wrinkling and looking messy. I like the idea of pairing it with tights and boots for fall. You are helping me get more wear out of this skirt.

;) Well, you know me ....

I have a love/hate affair with linen. Usually it edges towards hate because of the wrinkles, but I think it works in this skirt, because I'd imagine that the design (or the stitching that you mention) helps with that. Winkles sometimes will drive me crazy, except when they are on cute old people or pugs. Or cute old pugs.

I think mustard would look great! You look lovely.

I love this outfit!  The belt looks great with the violet top.  I think you did a good job with matching the top to the skirt in this outfit.

Oh, how I hate that feeling. I have had this exact same experience more times than I can count.

But you looked spectacular in your pretty summer skirt. I love how the pattern  is echoed by the belt and (oddly) by the ruffles in the shirt. Brilliant, as usual!

I love the mustard idea - what about icy blue too? Not together though :)

You did extremely well, and I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who does stuff like that!

I like the idea of mustard as a topper, too.  Good idea, Lynn!  The top your wearing here works well partly because of the ornament at the neckline, which balances the detail in the skirt.

Caro - I like the idea of ice blue too! I'll have to play around with the proportions of my icy blue tops with this skirt. Thank you!

Suz - I thought it was odd too that the top echos the skirt though not exactly. I haven't really deconstructed how or why. I'll  just put it in the "texture" box to be analyzed at a later time ;-) I think Beth Ann's explanation is more than sufficient.

Well I'm glad to know I'm not the only one with mishaps at the bank! I recently went across town to the after-hours ATM at my bank and while I had the check, I had no pen to sign it with! I went to the local gas station and begged a pen off the attendant, only to return to the bank and realize I had no deposit slips! ARGH!

The skirt is very pretty, and I like the suggestions of mustard and ice blue.

Love how your hair suits the outfit. Beautiful as usual DV!

Karie - I am so glad that you and other ladies have had days where you just couldn't get the deposit and the bank together for a meeting ;-)
