Inspired by lyn*

So I have some errands to run today and thought of this
H&M skirt I’ve had for at least 7 years. I absolutely love butterflies and
this skirt has plenty of them. I thought since we have temps in the 70’s today
that Lyn*’s outfit formula (fitted jacket + fitted top +  belt + flared skirt) would be perfect
for warm sun and cool shade.

I am wearing:

  • ON denim jacket
  • ruffled tank – Apt 9
  • Butterfly print skirt – H&M
  • Belt – 7 Hills from Piperlime
  • Peep toe flats – Lela Rose

How did I do? Is it lyn* worthy???

    Definitely!!-)

That denim jacket is fantastic, Day Vies, the entire silhouette is wonderful and I love how you've paired a more vibrant red (top) with the pastel colours in the skirt (which is beautiful). The belt, necklace and your always gorgeous smile are the icing on the cake.

I love the butterflies and the whole silhouette. Yay for lyn*spiration!

    Love this look on you!

I'd totally wear that whole outfit, right now!!!! :D

You look soooo great in that top - and man, glad to be the inspiration for you today!

And oooh, you even have a Lyn Belt!

Such fun! Lyn* twin :) You look great DV.

Hmm, I love the silhouette and the denim jacket and skirt together, but I'm not sure about the deep red of the top with the lighter colors of the skirt.  I think I would have preferred something less bold.

    Very lyn* worthy indeed!

Love the print on the skirt and the pairing with the belt and denim jacket. Have a lovely weekend! :)

Lyn - yep I even had a belt. I almost forgot to put it on. None of these pieces are new it's funny I never thought to put them together until I saw your post on your Anthro formula. I'd been trying to figure out what to wear this skirt with since I love it, but that high waist large bust thing made outfit creation a chore with this full skirt.

Inge - Thank you! Because there are so many colors to choose from I was at a loss at which one to choose. Although the burnt orange in the top isn't in the skirt at all I think it works because it's so high contrast to the denim jacket.

Cobaltblue - I am convinced Lyn* is the girlier version of me.

Sara - I think the high contrast of the darker burnt orange and denim takes getting used to. Darker tones close to my face with patterns and frou-frou on the bottom work better on me because I am so top heavy. It also works better when/if I take my jacket off because with a lighter non-printed top all of the attention would go directly to my bustline like an arrow.

Hedgiehog- I agree, the belt and the denim jacket keep the outfit from being to saccharine (especially with the ruffles and the butterflies).

You look really pretty and fresh in this outfit.

I love YLF inspiration outfits!! And you absolutely echo Lyn in this pretty, fresh, yet contemporary look! I love how the denim grounds the look. It is pretty, feminine -- and yet not precious.

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

Angie - the happiness factor in this outfit was pretty high and I felt pretty too.

Suz - Absolutely, I completely agree. Precious, is not part of my personality and I know I would not be able to pull that off well in an outfit at all.

DV, you look cute and feminine! :)

It is indeed Lyn* worthy.  The silhouette looks as incredible on you as on Lyn*.  You both rock the look.

Did someone say butterflies? :)  Well you know I love this look!

Love the skirt! And you styled it nicely - makes me think of a picnic in the park on a summer day with butterflies all around.
