Picture Perfect Challenge: Raiders of the Lost Ark

I was a little stumped by this inspiration picture from Ornella's post:

My style preferences (ladylike cosmoprep) generally do not include a "safari" look per se. There are, however, enough elements existing in my wardrobe to fake it. :-) What I like most about the poster is the lettering where gold fades to orange. Then there is a hint of blue in the back with the Arabian warrior. So that's where I got this. Tell me what you think!

    This works perfectly DV and yet is still YOUR style. It has the right colors and the style with the jacket but is still very ladylike. Well done!

    I'm glad you agree Shannon. I didn't want this to look like a costume, I wanted it to look like something I would have worn anyway.

    Great interpretation! The colours are spot on and the jacket is very appropriate for the theme. This is definitely a ladylike, classic DV styled outfit. :)

    In terms of adventures, I dub you the siren! I think you look fabulous in those colors and the safari jacket really adds interest to the look.

    This is such a great challenge because the interpretations are wide open and  able to fit everyone's style and closet.  Great job, love these colors and your take on it!

    But the skirt.  I love the skirt.  Can you please tell me about it.  I am hoping to buy something similar for an upcoming wedding.

    Gabrielle -  the skirt is bright orange and is what I think of as an adult version of a skater skirt. I got it 2 weeks ago from Banana Republic. they were having a sale.
