Shameless card-carrying member of team wear

I did some online shopping this weekend and ordered this striped top and shoes. I'd been eagerly anticipating the arrival of both. When they arrived yesterday morning I took the items out of their packaging and plopped them on my body.  YAY! I had to return half of the items in the box but clearly this is what I kept.

The purchase of the shoes were spawned by Beth Ann's post on fest wear. She said she was wearing crocs. I looked closely and could see no evidence of franken-foot which signals to me croc-like shoes. I saw cute leopard print ballet flats. After a not-so-exhaustive search I found a pair for myself which are super cute and comfy. They stood up well to 5 hours of browsing and grocery shopping.

So am I alone in my need for instant gratification? Any other team wear members out there?

Very cute! And you aren't alone by far. I'm Team Wear and I know a good number of other people that are as well.

I was afraid there would be crickets ;-)

I love the top! And those shoes really are Crocs? Wow. Cute.

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

Wendi -- I know right. Cute Crocs who knew?

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

Love your outfit and the glasses with it! I am on team wear-right-now often. When I bought my new handbag, I plopped my stuff in it and carried it home from the store. Felt like a kid with new shoes.

Who knew indeed! Crocs are not what they used to be - and I adore yours! I also love the top, and I can see why you were attracted to it. It is very much your style. In regards of team wear, please count me in. I'm definitely one who is known to wear new pieces straight out of the shop!

Three cheers for Team Wear! And I never knew Crocs could be so cute!

Team Wear all the way over here!  That striped top looks great on you and I would never have guessed those cute shoes were Crocs.

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

The striped top will be terrific layered under jackets, too.  The crocs look lovely with your skin tone, and will fit with many items in your wardrobe.  Comfy, eh!
And you can walk through puddles, if you wanna!

That top is a winner. Beth Ann is right -- it will work great as a layering item in the transitional weather. I have a striped short sleeve top like that and it gets absolutely the most wear in September and early October. As for the Crocs, they are adorable. I think I need a pair for house shoes. I wear warm slippers in winter, but in the warmer months I tend to go barefoot in the house. These would be a safer alternative.

Oh -- I am TOTALLY on Team Wear and have been known to wear things right out of the store. If I love it enough to buy it, I want to wear it now!

Wheeeee! If I looked that fab in something it'd be hard NOT to wear it!!!

  • Lisa replied 10 years ago

Those are crocs?  They are really cute!

And lovely striped top, you have some great finds here.  I have been trying to sport my new NAS items as quickly and often as possible to start reducing the CPW of them. :)  I used to "save" my clothes, but have changed that over time.  What was I saving them for?

I joined Team Wear sometime in the last year and haven't looked back - it's a great team!

LOVE the stripey top - so perfect for you DV. And the Crocs are adorable.

  • Dawn replied 10 years ago

I can't believe they're Crocs, they're adorable. I'm glad to hear they're comfy as well.

The top- what a fab piece to add to your wardrobe. The lace details make a potentially boring tee look very fresh.

Love the stripey top on you!  And the shoes are amazing. I would never have guess they were crocs!! I may need to rethink that brand!

I am firmly on team wear!  I have actually been a bit saddened by some NAS purchases as it has been over a month and I still haven't worn them. I took a look at them again, and yep, still like them.

This is why I struggle with buying when the new stuff comes out. I mean, c'mon, bathing suits in February when there are snow banks taller than me is just wrong, wrong, wrong!!  And then, all the good ones are gone  :(

Lisa - Welcome to team wear. God forbid you're hit by a bus before you get to wear all of your goodies. Enjoy them often and as soon as possible.
My mother made me save my clothes for special occasions (i.e. company or visiting) when I was little. Now I fully embrace and DH says it with me all the time: "I do not live in a museum!" Everything I own is for my personal use and enjoyment, not merely to impress company.

Suz - I haven't even gotten to layering and integrating it into the rest of my wardrobe -- not that it'll be hard. I liked how flexible it is and seems to straddle the line nicely between casual and dress. I do have a lovely green skirt I'm itching to wear it with among other things. There's a mental capsule forming around this skirt already.
Also I think they would work well as house shoes too they're so comfy and don't make noise on the floors.

Beth Ann -- Do you know I did not take these shoes off until 2 hours before bed? I had them on at least 14 hours and I prefer bare feet. I cannot get over how comfortable they are. I was trying to work them into today's outfit, but I'm going to class and I wanted something a little more polished. Perhaps that will be my challenge trying to create a business casual outfit around these crocs for next week's class.

Firecracker - yep, I love the new specs though they aren't so new any more I have had them since November of last year. I almost got them in black then I saw on line that they came in white and I had to have them. I need them to reduce glare, eye/neck strain, and keep my weaker left eye from "floating". So I don't have a strong prescription, but it is complex because I have prisms.

Thistle -- Yeah, there is something wrong with buying swimwear in Jan/Feb. I'd rather ease into spring than think about a body baring suit so soon after the holidays. But you're right if you don't get them when they first come out you'll end up with one that's just functional and brings you no joy.

I'm co e around to Team Wear. Now whether or not I can't wait to wear an item is part of the decision to buy it or not. If I feel indifferent, it doesn't get to make the trip home.
I can see why you are on Team Wear with your new shirt and shoes. Beautiful, comfortable and fun.

  • AnnieMouse replied 10 years ago

I am 100% Team Wear. I will still wear shoes out of the store, just like a 5 year old, to the amusement/ dismay of my honey. As soon as I've gotten home from an Expedition, I HAVE to put it all on immediately, and play in the closet. My partner says there's never any worry about me hiding a purchase, because I have to show it off immediately. ^__^

If I order something, and it comes when I'm not home for the night, I get really distraught that I can't wear it for a whole 'nother day! *laughing at self*

But... I know part of that is that if I wait too long, I'll have forgotten all the wonderful things I'd originally planned for it. So it's partly so things don't get lost; I'm really kinesthetic, and I have to have a tactile memory of it in order to integrate into my closet.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

You truly look fabulous! I am team enjoy the buy without wearing and then enjoy it all over again when I do wear it later. I do tend to overly complicate things, can you tell?

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

Annie -- you are hilarious! I do the same thing as soon as I get in the door I HAVE to pull it all out and proceed to try on things for another couple of hours. This behavior was modeled by my mom who made my brother and me do it after a trip back from the mall. I hated it then but now it's the cherry on top (or the cigarette but I don't smoke).
