Sunday Errands

I had this outfit ready to go because I put a bunch of transitional outfits together in this post. Once again I was able to get out of the house quickly because I wasn't doing the blank stare into the depths of the closet asking the age-old question, "what am I going to wear?" Sometimes trying to answer that would keep me in the house for the rest of the day.

I'd neglected the stock-up type of grocery shopping so today was a marathon. I was very comfortable and probably looked a lot better than I felt. I am just ready for a hot bath, I would have rather spent my time draped across the couch than pushing a cart though the aisles of the grocery store. Thanks for looking.

I'm wearing:

BR twill military jacket

Simply Vera Wang sleeveless tee

Vera Wang ballet flats

Daisy Fuentes trouser jeans

I don't see you in a lot of lighter colours, but I am jealous that they look pretty on you too :)

I just wore a hoodie today to the grocery store. HAHA. (shh)

I love the proportions & the relaxed feel of this outfit DV - YLF.

ETA I just checked back to your original post - I loved it then too - at least I'm consistent somewhere :)

The light blue in the top lights up this outfit beautifully.

You look fantastic, even if you didn't feel that way. Isn't it nice to have outfits ready to go? Now go take that hot bath, you deserve it!

Sometimes it does take effort to 'get dressed' for the mundane stuff, but this was worth it for sure. You have probably made the grocery shopping trip more interesting for those around viewing your Fabness too!

Day, I hope you are feeling rested by now. You look great! Isn't it wonderful to have outfits ready that you don't have to think too hard about?

You do look fantastic....gorgeous and polished, I guess that comes with the planning ?
I'm off to do some planning :)

Lyn - I won't tell anybody you dashed off to get groceries wearing a hoodie. I've done the same at midnight to get cookies ;-)

Caro - There is something to be said about consistency. I think the relaxed fit and lack of tucking made this outfit work for me without me having to work too hard.

Shevia - I agree the light blue has a little bit of yellow it it so it does a lot of the heavy lifting in this outfit.

Karie - My bath was FANTASTIC. Ready to go outfits prevent frumpiness and cures weird proportions (both of which I have been guilty of when I just gave up and needed to get out of the house quickly).

LynD- I thought I was the only one who felt that way. Getting dressed is work when you have to do all the thinking from scratch and within a specific time frame (It's like taking an exam ;-) )

Joy - Feeling very rested now. To answer your question YES. It's like having a closet that works for you instead of against you.

Debra -absolutely. Planning outfits (via capsules) solves all the proportion/fit/color issues ahead of time. It's a very nice change of pace.

I am finishing up breakfast and mentally preparing for my day (it's shortly before 6am). I picked out something last night for today so hopefully the preparation genie is with me. I'll check back in after work this evening. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

What a lovely outfit for marathon shopping.

Great outfit for a shopping trip! And I completely agree with you that this capsule exercise is at its absolute best on those mornings when you'd otherwise stare blankly into the closet.

The colors, the silhouette--perfection. I love this easy, casual outfit on you. I think this is one of my favorites! LOVE! That top does go with everything!

Fabulous transitional outfit!  These days are so tough! Cold in the morning and hot by 3pm. So hard to dress for.  You look smashing!

Hope your new assignment goes well!  As much as I detest big shopping, I love having things on hand that I know can be whipped into something healthy and tasty for the family to eat!  At least I can come home and honk the home --- DS carries it, and DD unloads into the cabinets and frig.  Oh -- and DH keeps the kids so that I can go by myself, and don't need to go near the lego aisle!

Love the soft palette and relaxed silhouette.  It's easy, but still polished.

I love the colors of the top and the entire outfit on you. This jacket silhouette is so nice. I wore something similar over the weekend :)
