So my first party guest has already arrived. My best friend from the DC area is staying with us through the weekend and I'm of course still preparing for the party. This outfit combines my need for warmth with my new fascination for deep reds this season. Happiness factor is very high. My next post will be my party outfit. I think I know what I'll wear but then you never know how you'll feel the day of about a pre-planned outfit. Happy Thursday ;-)

    Gorgeous! I love the skirt. I can't see the red here (on my laptop and I guess the colour reproduction is lousy) but I take your word for it, and I just know your party outfit is going to be stellar! Have fun celebrating with your friend.

    Suz - the resolution is kind of grainy in the picture. My reference was to the broader range/scope of  dark red shades which would encompass burgundies, plums, purples, crimsons etc.So that would cover my jacket belt shoes and some of the threads running through the skirt. There's probably nothing wrong with your computer.

    This outfit was warm and toasty . The weather did odd things yesterday. It was cool, it rained, it was breezy, it was sunny. I loved the shape of this. The jacket actually nips in at the waist creating a nice fitted silhouette with no tailoring. Glad you all liked it ;-)

    I never thought I would be writing "I'd wear _____ in a heartbeat" twice in the span of five minutes, but it applies to your truly gorgeous jacket. I love the elegant skirt, and everything is paired up so tastefully so that you look festive and holiday-ready.

    Soft, textured, rich. I love how the grey sparkle in the hose (that is what I see at the photo) elevate the whole outfit to - luscious. Lady, you really cannot put a fashion foot wrong .
