WIW on a detour

I had a meeting this morning and this is what I wore. I wanted to make a good impression, as the meeting was with a law school classmate and we were talking about a possible business venture. I picked this out beforehand when I was playing in my closet yesterday afternoon. I was enamored with the gold suede shoes and the print on the skirt.
After my meeting I went to DH's office for an impromptu lunch visit and met all of his new coworkers for the first time. They were so excited about the baby. It was definitely a nice departure from my usual routine.

I'm wearing:

  • ON ribbed gray turtleneck
  • AT belt
  • Mossimo skirt
  • Land's End suede pumps in sweet potato.

A great outfit and you look really good. Are you over the morning sickness?

  • Helena replied 10 years ago

    Very classy!

First of all, Congratulations! (I don't think I had congratulated you on the baby)
You look very elegant and stylish in this outfit. Love that skirt on you.

Deb - YES completely over the nausea that plagued me for 8 weeks. I have felt pretty good since about early February. I am a little fearful because everything I'm reading says that it may come back during the 3rd trimester.

You look very elegant and pulled together. I can see why you were enamored with the shoes. So fab!

I bet you'll feel fine in the 3rd trimester!  Of course, you get a little uncomfy at the end.  Probably helps make us welcome the delivery!

Love the skirt.  How amazing that you're still able to rock a pencil!  The yellow shoes are a nod to spring!

You look great!  I love the grey tights with the cognac shoes.  I never had nausea at the end - just very uncomfortable.  I had heartburn though and popped Tums like they were going out of style.

    Stunning.

I love the skirt and shoes together. You look wonderful. And it sounds like you had a fun day!

  • Nebraskim replied 10 years ago

Totally FAB. I have this skirt and wear with a short sleeved fuschia-colored turtle neck. I bet it would look fab with that fuschia sweater you have over a black or grey tee. There's a tiny fleck of hot pink in the print...

Absolutely Fantastic!!! What a great day to switch up your routine...

You are radiant! That skirt is gorgeous - love the pairing of gold and grey.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Wow DV - you look incredible! Love you in shades of grey. Sounds like you had a great day.

  • Marmee replied 10 years ago

YLF!  Love the shoes and skirt together.  Re the nausea, I was hideously nauseous both pregnancies during the first trimester, but it didn't come back, so there's hope!

  • Karie replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous skirt & gorgeous outfit. There isn't any other impression to make other than a good one in that outfit!

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

What Beth Ann said. Usually one is more worn out in the third trimester from carrying the baby weight and not being able to sleep well. It's not the nausea type thing.
The gold and grey is so elegant. You look radiant.

  • Jaime replied 10 years ago

Your pregnancy looks are as amazing. Gorgeous!

  • Aubergine replied 10 years ago

You look great! I never would have thought of putting the gray tights with warm neutral shoes, but that's brilliant and seems like a good way to get more use out of non-black tights.

Beth Ann - I can't believe I can still zip a pencil skirt, but all the weight is concentrated in my lower tummy. I just raise the waistband higher. Natalie/ Golden Pig told me that skirts worked for her through her entire pregnancy. Skirts work best when they have lots of give. My favorites though this process have been BR's stretch twill skirts. I'd probably love tube skirts if I had any ;-)

I echo what Ceit said.  She said it perfectly.

  • MsMary replied 10 years ago

Wow, this is so beautiful and elegant!  That color combination is one of my favorites, and you are rocking it hard!!

  • lyn67 replied 10 years ago

Love the colors, and you look gorgeous, a proud mommy to be as you are!:-)

  • pil replied 10 years ago

What a rich, fabulous look! I remember expanding the waist on my suit skirts with a rubber band :)

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

Pil -- hair bands, belly bands and other clothes stretching tactics have become my friends. It's become a nice little challenge to wear what I have for as long as possible. What I am finding is I have to treat each closet  "find" like a new purchase before I commit to wearing it all day. Today I discovered that what is comfy and looks good standing in front of my mirror does not necessarily feel good to sit down in for extended periods of time.
