WIW on baby watch ;-)

This is what I wore to my now weekly doctor's visit. There are no maternity clothes in sight and I believe everything with the exception of the bag and shoes came from Kohl's.

I figured out how to wear this Simply Vera Wang sleeveless top. (YAY!) I love the contrast of the bright blue with the gray floral print. It's a petite large and as a result does not cover my belly, however I figured if I wore a bottom that went over my belly the hem of the top wouldn't look too short. It worked out just fine with my trusty skort.

I was also informed by my doctor that by and large I am at the finish line and DD may show up any day now over the course of the next 4 weeks. So I am officially on baby watch :-D (not to be confused with the TV show Bay Watch)!

I'm wearing:

  • Back cardigan - Daisy Fuentes
  • Top - Simply Vera Wang
  • Trusty white skort
  • Black lace ballet flat
  • Kenneth Cole tote in red-orange

Wow! You look amazing! (Those legs...).

Congrats on reaching full term, and here's hoping DD comes soon with a minimum of fuss!

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

You look amazing -- and I love the way you can rock the short skirts at full term!  The bright bag is a great touch, too!

    Countdown!  Woohoo!

  • jackiec replied 9 years ago

You look beautiful, and OMG not a maternity piece at all?!?! Fab fab fab all around. Exciting times for sure :)

  • LAR101 replied 9 years ago

Wishing you well with new DD.  Very Exciting for the whole family.
BTW - Love your outfit.  The black ties it together, over a great top and skort and then that pop of red bag.  Wishing you well.

It's funny you should mention Bay Watch, Day Vies, because that is exactly how I first read the title of your thread (happens to me a lot, oh the scenarios I have imagined ;-)

But Baby Watch is much more exciting. Wow, very good news, and you are getting very close.

The floral pattern on the top is lovely, and I like how the white ties in with the white of your skirt. I wouldn't have thought of pairing this with a black cardi and red bag, but it totally works. Clever Mama-to-Be!-)

What a stylish mom to be you are. Did you buy maternity clothes at all?
I think the way you wore the blouse really worked.
Are you excited with the Baby Watch?I found that by the last week I was thinking that I was done with it already. :)

Baby Watch! Love your allusion to Bay Watch--ha hahaha! Congratulations on reaching the baby-watch stage, btw.
Your outfit is gorgeous. Wow--that top is so pretty on you. The pop of red with the bag is so fresh. Your style is still going strong.

Lol at Inge, me too :D! You look gorgeous DV! Love the nearly monochrome look with the fab bright red bag. And legs that go on for miles!

  • Sara L. replied 9 years ago

You look great!  I love the white skort and patterned top together.  Good luck with these final few weeks.

Celia - I did not gain as much weight as I'd anticipated (not that I'm complaining) Many of the maternity things I purchased with the intent that they would grow with me turned out to be too big to wear in public. So I sleep in them -- ahhh comfy knit jersey dresses and tanks! I think a major factor was that I have only gained a little less than 20 lbs. and expect to top out at about 21 lbs. What has worked best for me is just sizing up from my normal M/L to 1X or XXL.
The whole of my maternity wardrobe is pretty small (pieces specifically designed for pregnancy):

    • 2 pairs of jeans
    • 2 tops
    • 4 tanks
    • 2 maxi dresses
    • 1 tunic
    • 2 belly bands
So, I bought some maternity clothes they just turned out to be too doggone big ;-)

  • Aquamarine replied 9 years ago

Exciting!! You don't look pregnant from here...and only 21 lbs.??? I am impressed. You don't want to know how much I gained with my peeps...Must be why it took me 10 years to get rid of it all LOL.

Oh...and good luck with the birth of your DD....it's an awesome event!

  • AJ replied 9 years ago

    SQUEEE! The countdown begins!

You are a gorgeous mama!  The skort blends nicely with the top and the black cardi puts the focus on the lovely print.  Nicely styled!

  • Eliza replied 9 years ago

Great news accompanied by a great look.  YLF!  Best with the anticipation.

  • pil replied 9 years ago

Dayvies, you are an absolute stunner. I can't believe it is time already!
We never even got to see you waddle ;) oh, how I remember waddling and feeling like a beached whale while trying to roll over in bed.

  • replied 9 years ago

Wha-a-a-at?! And here I was waiting for you to enter your third trimester so you would finally see what it was like to look pregnant, lol! Some people have all the luck. Well you look terrific, and it looks like you have your bags packed and your act together. Let the countdown commence!

  • deb replied 9 years ago

    Yea, baby watch!!!!

  • karymk replied 9 years ago

Whoohoo DayVies I am so excited for you! Blessings to you and your family as you welcome your baby bundle.

  • Day Vies replied 9 years ago

Clearlyclaire - I was waiting to look pregnant too! I think I look more pregnant from the side than from the front. I think it has everything to do with being more circular than elliptical. I tend to grow more front to back than side to side.

Pil - We need video capability on the forum then I'd be able to show you my waddle. Sometimes are worse than others -- usually when I am trying to get to the potty. Rolling over in bed -- the bane of my existence, trying to get out of bed -- also the bane of my existence. I'm not sure about a beached whale but I definitely feel like a turtle on its back frequently :-D

    - Oh, there will definitely be pictures shared on the forum. I can't promise that DD will look any different from any other newborn though. I am firmly of the opinion that it takes about 2-3 months for babies to start looking like themselves  with their own distinct features. Either way I can't wait to find out what she'll look like.

Aquamarine - proof that I need to supply the forum with profile shots. I definitely look more pregnant from the side than the front.

AviaMariah - I have escaped puffiness for the most part but my hands and feet do swell every other day -- that's when I reach for my ever-present glass of water and put my feet up.

  • Jeanie replied 9 years ago

You look gorgeous DV!  I was with Clearlyclaire waiting for you to look pregnant and break out the maternity clothes.  You have been so creative with you clothes.  So excited for you!
