WIW to run errands

I was scrolling though my Spring Inspiration board on pinterest and was inspired by all the pics of emerald and kelly green. I had to adapt an outfit I wore about this time last year (pic #2). The blouse no longer fits properly and we're still dealing with below normal temps and 6-8 inches of snow on the ground, so the footwear is not the most inspiring (combat boots). In pic #1 I'm wearing:

  • an old navy sweater,
  • LOFT straight leg jeans, and
  • Liz Claiborne tote
  • old navy tank (no maternity clothes today).

I like #2 better but #1 will do for now.

I've always loved this color combo.  And how forward looking of you to dress in your spring duds, snow or no!

Don't you love a yellow purse?

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

YES! It's my invitation to spring. It's march after all -- not that the passing months mean anything. It could still snow here in early April ;-)

Yellow purse is super with the green! I like both versions of your outfit.

I actually love #1 - why don't I look that polished in color?? (*sobs*)

You are really gorgeous, and the green is beautiful on you.

Hello MARCH! You look great in that shade of green!

Day Vies - you look great!! Snug but stylish.  Outfit 2 is very fab!!  You'll be back in it soon!  The fantastic "door prize" at the end is worth all the bother, wear and tear!!  PS I love combat boots!!  (actually my ariat heritabe lacers but they look very similiar!)

The green looks great on you.  Love it with the dark wash denim trouser jeans.  Very pulled together and fab!!  I love green and will be copying this for sure.  Gotta get a yellow purse! :-)

Torontogirl - It's not that I dislike #1 at all, I just like #2 better. I think the fact that my belly makes my sweater look too short throws off the proportions. I thought I could correct it with the long white tank underneath but I'm not completely satisfied with the proportions. I'll have to keep playing with it.

Gryffin - Baby as door prize is hilarious!!! I can still wear the cardi in #2 , maybe I can throw that over one of my maternity tanks. I'll try this outfit again soon.

Fastkat - completely recommend a yellow bag. I picked this one up last year about this time. I wanted spring to hurry up and this bag added to even the most tame and basic of outfits seemed to make me feel a bit more like spring.

Green looks so pretty on you especially paired with a bright yellow bag.

You make errand running look downright glam, girl!

DV, do you remember if the other look was worn about a year ago? I think it may have been. Certainly around this time of year, anyway. Amazing how different the weather is this year!

    I love both versions.

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

Suz- yep #2 I wore on 4/13/13 last year. It was really spring then but still quite cool.

  • carter replied 10 years ago

Well, #1 looks just as cute as #2. Green (especially the one in #1) is really your color!

  • gryffin replied 10 years ago

Day Vies - it really helps to try and keep your sense of humor during this time!! Gosh, otherwise I would totally have lost it!! God is most definitely male, we would have put in a better system. Kanga pouch, seahorse style, Velcro....yup those are working for me. But, as I said, great door prize ;-D !!

Gorgeous in green! Your sweater in 1 looks classic and classy. Is the river running green yet? Or frozen over?

  • Day Vies replied 10 years ago

Joy - The river has frozen chunks in it and I do wonder if they'll be able to dye it green this year. Something tells me that lack of a green river will not stop the show ;-) especially when there is still green beer.

I think you look great and the longer tank underneath helps with the proportions.  I'm long waisted and even maternity tops ended up too short by the end so I used the layering trick to get more wear out of them.
