Basic black (with a little purple and gold thrown in)

Today was a great day and I am so glad I was dressed for it ;-) It sucks when you run into someone really impressive and you look completely unimpressive (I am so very glad that today was not that day).

I kept it simple this morning so getting dressed was a breeze. It's still cold here but on the bright side we have a whole extra hour of daylight so it's not dark by the time I get home. It's hard to feel like you have "the rest of the evening" ahead when it seem like you should be preparing for bed.

I think with the exception of the shoes (Land's End) and the belt (Ann Taylor) this entire outfit is from Kohl's go figure.

I never knew they had such stylish clothes at Khol's! I'm starting the car right now....

Looks great! You are right, it's good to be prepared. That's part of the reason I need to make myself get dressed each day. I've answered the door in my house coat way too often (not like there is a number of times that's ok, lol). You always look polished!

Just another stunning outfit from DV....*sigh*....don't you ever get bored looking so good???

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

Ah Shannon -- I'm just trying to catch up to you. I have not seen today's outfit yet, but I'm sure it rocks. (I'm SO psychic!)

i could never guess that this was from Kohl's. You, off course, wear these items so well. Your impressive personality shines through.

Great outfit! Today, you definitely shone. I like Kohl's, sometimes I can find some really nice pieces there. :-)

fablook. helps to have your best 'face' on when the top guys come to visit!

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

Sona -- the top "guy" was a girl (and a most stylish tax attorney/partner she is!)

This is such a great, polished professional look. If I saw you in an office, I'd assume you were "the one who knows what's going on." Great reminder about dressing well ALL the time. Can't wait to get enough clothes so I can do it!

You look great. I love the watercolor printish top! Beth Ann finds great things at Kohls too... Gotta love it when the "top guy" is a gal :)

You are so amazing! The whole outfit at Kohl's - well why not? You have the eye and know what you are doing and always look fab!

  • Joy replied 11 years ago

You are an amazing shopper to put this together mostly from Kohls and look like a million bucks. Did you have any of it altered?

  • Laura (rhubarbgirl) replied 11 years ago

You look great; the top is an excellent color on you.

I like Kohl's too - they've got some very nice pieces there, and a lot of fun print tops right now.

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

Joy -- I had nothing altered. Everything was straight off the rack. It's the one clothing store where I can shop with a mini cart. I load the cart up and I am in the fitting room for 45 minutes to an hour.

Hey, if you're going to have one place where you're always finding armfuls of great, easy-to-fit pieces, it may as well be Kohl's and not Neiman-Marcus, right?

Subdued and classy example of an elegant column of color. Even the necklace adds verticality. The dark belt adds interest without conflict. Great job; you look so sleek and professional.

Wow, you look beautiful! I am glad you had a great day and were dressed for it. I absolutely adore the way you incorporate bits of shine into your dark outfits. You end up looking very sophisticated and luxe.

  • Susie replied 11 years ago

This looks great. I love the bit of shine you added with the necklace.

I get a lot of my basic cotton layering tees at Kohl's. It's hard to beat their prices. And I can usually find a couple of not-so-basic pieces too.

I'm glad you had a great day! And you always look impressive so don't ever worry about that!

A professional and classically beautiful look that is very much upped by your own sparkle and polish :)

  • Bree replied 11 years ago

You always look fab! I love the belt, and are those high waisted pants?

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

Sorry Bree -- no high-waist pants only a high waist and long legs here ;-)
