How I styled my shiny new oxford flats

Well -- I admitted last night that I was a card-carrying member of team wear. I got my new shoes in the mail and promptly solicited YLF for styling advice. This is what I came up with after all the great suggestions. (THANK YOU!) I was pretty happy with this outfit. I just wish I had some cropped trousers (note to self) because the slouchy hem was not quite what I was looking for but I'm satisfied with this first attempt.

Constructive feedback is always welcomed.

So cute! I see what you mean about the trousers. Cropped would look fantastic.

SO gorgeous!! You can do no wrong in my book! This is just stunning! And I am so jealous that you can wear that neon green. You look like spring (even if it will NOT come to these parts....grrrrr)

You look gorgeous! Slouchy hem cannot hide the citrus shoelaces and clever bookending! Well done.

This looks sporty and chic, DV! I absolutely love it!

I think it is a great look for work! Those oxfords are fantastic. Cropped trousers would be very fun with them as well.

    Breakin' out, Vies!

You wouldn't have one of those V belts would you, that echo the shape of your necklace?

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

    Rachylou -- I don't have a "v" belt but that's a fantastic idea!

Now can anybody point me in the direction of a great pair of cropped trousers? Angie probably has a post on it ;-)

Good for you to be on team wear. The oxfords look great in this outfit and i am sure all their fabness will show in cropped pants.

I think the combo looks awesome! I do have some cc though-I think it would be more flattering to your figure if you wore sweater out, instead of tucked in

  • Eliza replied 11 years ago

Love it. You look so put together and joyful. Agree that It could be fun to try the sweater untucked as well.

Day Vies, I don't know how I missed your other post, I've been glued to YLF the past few days! Anyhow, I really like your new shoes (the colors are gorgeous) and I like your first styling. I don't think there's any color that you can't wear!
They would also look good with cropped trousers that are tapered in at the hem.

Super Duper Casual Business Chic! You look soooo huggable.

YLF! Love team wear. Those shoes look super fab on you, and I love how you have styled them.

Fun! I am jealous of that citron top. I see why you crave crops now... the shoes cry to be shown off. :D

  • ElleH replied 11 years ago

Super fab. I love how the colour in your top matches the shoes! I'm not into cropped pants so these look good to me. Is it that there isn't enough slouch that bothers you? Do you prefer more in a long pant?

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

Ahh yeah you wore the sweater I suggested. Looks great!

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

    Love the sweater/shoelace thing!

  • Day Vies replied 11 years ago

Elle - I didn't want the pants to slouch at all -- the high vamp on the shoe makes the look a bit more casual than I wanted (sort of the kind of slouch you get when you put running shoes on with trousers. Ideally I want a pant that is very tapered and a little more cropped. I usually wear these pants with low heels -- since I don't own any cropped trousers (skinnies wouldn't work for the office) this was the best I could do on short notice.

WOW, that sweater color on you = TDF! I am in awe.

  • sarah replied 11 years ago

    FAB shoes!

  • Susie replied 11 years ago

Oh those shoes are so fab! I love how the sweater matches them.

Another great pairing from your wardrobe. I really love how the yellow is picked up in the shoes, and the combination with grey is so much softer than with black. For a more casual look, I can see those shoes and the sweater paired with white jeans, too. You look terrific!
