Silver and Chocolate

So I finally got my circa 2005 wool pants to the cleaners and back. I have always loved their deep rich brown color. I paired it with a top I'd had problems styling because it's a print.  I also happen to be wearing one of the vegan leather blazers. I thought it was a nice play on colored neutrals.
Happy Tuesday!

Gorgeous - the color of the jacket with the necklace is amazing on you!

The jacket is a beauty!  Great find DayVies!  And the entire outfit has a beautiful color scheme (my kind of neutrals!).

I never would have thought to pair chocolate and silver, but you make it work. LOVE your jacket....

you have a way of putting together colors that i would have never thought of, and making them look so good.

    It's the perfect fall outfit!

Love the color combos--wanna copy. Fulfills my competing attractions to both warm and cool colors.

Robidi - I am all about a lush color palette.

Unfrumped - I have that competing attraction too. I have found that if the undertones are similar they don't fight one another. Like here the brown has a cool bluish undertone as does the red which plays nicely with silver. Normally I would want to pair red and brown with mustard or gold but in that case both would need warm yellow undertones to make that work.

Neel - I found this jacket quite unexpectedly Saturday afternoon while shopping with DH. It was located in the "little old lady" section of one of my favorite stores -- surrounded by embroidered sweatshirts and pants with stretchy waistbands. I happened to be in the vicinity (far back wall) because I was looking for a basic unadorned cardigan and this is usually the best place for me to find one on the cheap with very generous sizing. I bought its twin in black as well.

Pretty, Fun, Glam and Modern. I do love you in V-necks, DV. It's the most flattering neckline for your bust line to my eye.  This palette reminds me of bing cherries with chocolate molten cake and a dash of vanilla ice cream. How can it not be delish.

Angie - you talk like a true foodie. I like your style ;-)

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

I love this on you!  The color palette is lovely, and the jacket realy adds a nice pop. So pretty!

Oh DV! I just want to bookmark you and show these pictures to everyone who questions that brown is a brilliant neutral.  So pretty with the gray.  And from 2005? See, that's why classic shapes and neutral colors are an awesome investment.

What the others said. But also, with a title like that, how can a person not click on the link? Yummmm.

And the hairstyle you're wearing, as usual, complements the outfit. I like the way the swept back/up hair works with the V neckline -- very elegant.

High-low, youthful-little old lady--I love it! These are such yummy neutrals on you. The printed top is very flattering. Angie is right about the V-neckline being really good on you!

  • Caro in Oz replied 10 years ago

I LOVE the colours on you - rich & luscious. Also agree with Angie about the neckline being perfect for you :)

  • Asingh replied 10 years ago

Great outfit, DV! Love your necklace. It is complementing the animal print top.

"problems styling"--two words I don't associate with you, Day Vies. Ha ha! This outfit is fantastic on you. The colors are scrumptious together.

  • LAR101 replied 10 years ago

Fantastic!! All the details work so well together in the outfit: shoes, necklace, ring, makeup. Contradicting Suz, photo #2 highlights how pretty you look in the upswept hair but in photo #1 where you see the full body, I wonder if a wider or slightly wider & high hairstyle (like the one in your "I almost didn't wear this.." post) would make a subtle difference. To my eye, both hairstyles are very, very flattering on you and the outfit itself is fantastic. Hats off to you.
