Star Wars inspiration: Going for the gold

I was initially stumped at what to wear for this challenge. Like many other YLFers I thought cobalt and black with something sparkly or white -- but that would be too easy and simply reinforce all the things I wear already. So I thought about this sparkly bronze knit blouse I picked up from LOFT late last year and inspiration struck. I thought I would be the golden girl and see where my C3P0 inspiration would take me :-)

I am not sure it shows but I am wearing nude fishnet tights (thank you YLF) and Ralph Lauren pumps.

Love this! The earthy tones are actually very Jedi-esque, and the bag is totally your helper droid for the day. You look so good in pencil skirts, too, btw.

Thanks Rae -- I wanted a lot more gold but I had to keep in mind that I DO have to go to work.

Could you look any better??!! I love this outfit and your interpretation of the theme. Very modern classic C3P0.

Ooooh!  DV in neutrals!  How do you do that?  I can wear many of the same brights as you do, but you still shine in these warm, sleek oatmeals.  Love the addition of work appropriate gold.

Beth Ann - I can pull the neutrals out every once in awhile but I need lots of sparkle or shine to make up for the lack of color :-)

    I think you look very Obi-Wan :)

I really like the shape of the bronze top, and it's color seems to bring out your eyes.  The idea of using sparkle to step in for color had never occurred to me, although it appeals to me with neutral outfits.  I learned something today. Thank you!
You look even more beautiful than usual.  The skirt drapes so well.  What is the fabric?

Joy --  I was just thinking out loud on the forum again. The skirt is made of crepe, when I realized that when color isn't an option I compensate with color. I also realized too when I was on Pinterest this weekend that I feel more comfortable pairing a super bright color with pattern than mixing patterns. Oddly I feel that bright color + pattern  can equal pattern + pattern.

The skirt I think its a heavy polyester crepe. It's part of a skirt suit I bought to wear to a "cream party" several years ago. At least it made it out of this closet with out the need for a special occasion.

Star Wars or not, this is one of your best outfits;  you look superb, the fit, the colors on you, such elegance!

I don't care what the new trends are, I just want to dress like you!  Gosh, I sound like a crazed fan.

    Ginkgo- flattered and blushing :-)

Ok, you need to wear this skirt more!! It is gorgeous on you. I love it with the sparkly neutrals. You look great, and very Obi-Wan, I agree!

Gorgeous!  I think more more jedi knight and less C3PO.  Did they allow female jedi knights? I only remember Ben and Luke, but then I never saw the new ones (DH hated them and refused to see any after the one with Jar Jar. Said something about how Lucas would never get another red cent from him)

Wow, you look great!   I love how you used the sparkle for day.  Definitely a formula that works for you and should be repeated.

KILLER to the power of KILLER

That semi-low scoop is heavenly on you! And you just defied the so called rule that a full bust should not wear a dolman sleeve. Look at you rock the look. You kept it tailored in all the right places. Codswallup rule!

Just amazing - this reminds me of the 70s in color scheme but is so completely modern and flattering!

I am the only person in the world who hasn't seen any of the Star Wars movies, but I can still see how fabulous you look!!!  You remind me of a golden Bond Girl.  Beautiful!
