Sweater weather

I pulled this outfit together solely based on the sweater. I believe when I wore it before someone on the forum pointed out that it was the color of egg yolks from brown eggs (I'll take that). I like the fact that this sweater is a heavy weight cotton so it's warm enough to ward off the early morning chill but not so heavy that I'm uncomfortable when its warm in the afternoon. I paired this sweater with gray trousers and I think the scarf finishes it because the boots I'm wearing are super comfy and I did not want to have to take an extra pair of shoes. 

I'm wearing: 

Yellow tipped sweater - Banana Republic 
Black and gold silk scarf - Echo
long sleeve tee - Old Navy 
Gray side zip trouser - Talbots 
Black bootie - Franco Sarto
Black bag - Dooney & Bourke large Zipzip

    I may need to invest in a crash helmut!  Faint worthy fabulous!  I love the color, fit and proportions. That yellow looks stellar on you!

    The yellow and grey look great together.  I agree that the scarf is the perfect finishing touch to bookend the boots and bring the whole outfit together.

    I realized in my rush to post and get out of the house this morning that I never explicitly stated that the scarf's purpose was to bookend the comfy black boots but you all are so smart you figured out that's what I meant.

    Stunning! I love the muted tones of the scarf against the bright yellow of the sweater and crisp white -- what an unusual juxtaposition, and it completely works. You look prepared for the day in every way!

    Day Vies, tres chic. It's like this Catherine Deneuve thing going on. Loving your bag, too. You're rightfully famous for your joyful color combos, but you handle the neutrals with confidence and elan as well.

    Ornella - I'm a big fan of yellow + gray. I think it's the balance of a really happy color and a sober serious color especially when white is added to support. I see sweaters, purses, shoes, bags etc. using this color combination and I generally want it for myself.

    Neel - I did not think about it the fact that all the other colors are neutrals and merely support/set-off the sweater, but that is an excellent summation of why I liked this combination. That will help me relplecate the concept in other outfits. Thanks so much for your comment.

    Thistle - Fit for me is where all of the work goes when I shop. I remember seeing the sweater and it's similar colored friends on the rack and I loved this color instantly. Because I was in BR I started with the XL. Well, it was huge I sized down to a medium just to get this sweater to fit the way I wanted. Maybe BR wanted the sweater to fit differently than the way I wanted it to fit?

    Angie - it's always a good day when I get a "killer" comment from you. 

    Beth Ann - it has been a nice Autumn so far. I think the brisk weather I always picture when I think of autumn is right around the corner. However, the office where I work is more like WINTER. I'm glad I found a combination that works for me inside and outside. I work a large scarf around my neck all day yeaterday just to ward off the chill.

    Suz - I never thought if this combination quite the way your comments are leading me bright + white + neutral. I'm going to see if that formula works wither other outfits hmmm. It could be the basis for another capsule. :-)

    Mochi -- you and Joy drink from the same poetic cup of tea. I love your comments. The feelings they evoke are as beautiful as the words you use.

    I love your style and you "crack me up" with your humor on the egg description.

    Pairing this beautiful sweater the way you have here with the gray pants is beautiful. Love the side-tie scarf and I'd wear this exact outfit (if I owned these gorgeous pieces).
