So today, the temperatures are in the low 70's very comfortable, and worthy of covered arms and legs. I pulled out this zebra print jacket I spied while shopping with my Mom and her sisters earlier this year. Mom did not want/see this jacket until I picked it up for myself. (She got one just like it.) I thought it was a steal for such a well-made pow factor. What do you think?

This is an unexpected color combination and I love it.  Also, the jacket and shoes just sparkle together.  You wear cropped / ankle pants beautifully.

Like Denise I was struck by the unusual color pairing of the dusty lavender top with this jacket, but it works beautifully on you. You are stunning!

Wow and Pow! You are stunning!

  • Beth Ann replied 10 years ago

The jacket is both versatile and striking, and the pairing with lavender is fresh and lovely.

It was a beautiful day, wasn't it?

    Liking the jacket.

  • Ingunn replied 10 years ago

The jacket is flattering, on trend and versatile. Yes, a steal it is. I love the color mix and the sandals. You look terrific!

  • Lantana replied 10 years ago

Adorable colours here and there are beautiful lines moving through this outfit too. The reveres on the jacket continue the neckline of the tee. The zebra stripes are echoed in the pattern on the sandals.
    A truly stunning outfit.

Wow - I think you made the right choice getting that jacket  - looks beautiful on you. I really like how you paired it with the soft color in your top. Really nice!

I like the way your sandals are an extention of your ankle pants, and the whole line from waist to toe is low contrast. You look hip and fab, DV. xo

The jacket is so fun!  I also love your sandals and the light purple top.

Coco & Joy -- I agree it is an unusual color palette. Who puts periwinkle and a graphic black and white pattern together? I DO! I really wanted to do a light aqua but I do not happen to have a top in that color that works for summer. I don't remember how exactly I came up with periwinkle as a substitute -- but the first time I wore it I was going to the dentist. I guess your outfit is pretty fab if your dentist is even pleased with it.

Beth Ann -- the day was gorgeous perfect and cloudless in my neck of the woods.

Ingunn & Lantana  -- funny you should mention the sandals. DH thought it was reminiscent of "Metropolis" the movie. I looked down and was struck that the detail is rather art deco.

Angie -- I've been itching to wear these since they came in the mail this week. I filled a wardrobe hole - flat black sandals. I noticed rather belatedly this year that almost all of my sandals are wedges or peep toe heels or non-neutral. I'm glad I got the Angie seal of approval!

Sara -- I thought it was pretty fun too it's the reason why I chose the print over the solids. I really wanted to snatch it up in every color, navy, red, white, yellow -- this was the only printed one and I of course had plenty of solid jackets already.

nicely coordinated outfit.  Jacket is awesome!

Steal indeed, DV!  the jacket is so fab on you, and I love the way it integrates the whole otfit. YLF!

I agree with everyone - I like the color combination. Anymore animal print is treated like a neutral. With the black/white color the combinations you can come up with are limitless. Definitely a keeper. Vickie

I like the color combo on you.  It is fresh and yet a nod to fall.  Your smile remains your best accessory!

  • Vildy replied 10 years ago

I like how you took something very bold but it takes a back seat to your own beauty!

  • lyn* replied 10 years ago

I have just ordered a zebra cardigan thanks to you :3

  • Deborah replied 10 years ago

Beautiful!  The jacket is standout, I love it on you.  And as others have said the colour combo is lovely and unexpected.  And you have reminded me I have new zebra jacket for Spring that needs to come out to play :)

I am sorry for the delayed response. We had on of DH's old friends in town for the weekend.
Vildy -- I often say I am recovering from my fear of prints. I thought it was interesting when you wrote that the print takes a back seat. I was always concerned that any print especially an animal print would overwhelm the entire outfit.
Thistle - I think you hit on the same point Vildy made that the zebra print is integrated into the outfit it's not just hanging out like a sore thumb.
VickieKY -- I agree animal prints are neutrals. I have recently come to that conclusion. The extra punch they add to an outfit is priceless -- no accessories required.
Eliza -- I  agree, it is a nod to fall with out draping myself in autumnal colors before the weather has actually turned. Funny how seeing and anticipating cooler temps shades your color choices in outfit selection.
Lyn - wow you are such a mix master of prints -- I'll be watching to see what you do with that zebra cardi.
Deborah - you create such compelling silhouettes, I can't wait to see how you style zebra print.

I love lavender but tend to find it soft or drab on me. I'll have to remember the trick of pairing it with black and white!  I think in the past I've put it with denim or khaki.
