Perfecting my MOTG look

This is what I wore today to run a few errands. My signature super long pants (trouser jeans in this case) are featured along with my trench jacket and watercolor tee. The colors are muted but there's enough high contrast in the tee for this combination to make me feel like my old self. I can't say this will be my go-to MOTG uniform just yet but this is pretty close.

I'm wearing:
Light olive trench jacket - BR
Watercolor tee - Simply Vera Wang
Trouser Jeans - Old Navy

Happy Monday -- thanks for looking. I think I need a nap now ;-).

This looks more like sophisticated mom at the office! Any time you can take a nap, do it. I'm waiting to see the fab outfits your daughter gets to wear.

    Fabulous esp without the jacket.

Is you baby sleeping through the night? You look so well rested.

Very sharp! Way nicer than a typical MOTG look, IMO. Are those heels you have on? You are a better woman than I!
Sleep when the baby sleeps. The housework will always be there. ;)

I love it- love how the grays play together. Very nice motg.

Wow, you look amazing. I like it better without the jacket, but is can see the need for it as it turns cooler.

And you do look so well rested! I am jealous if your little one is already sleeping through the night! DD didn't sleep through the night until she was 18 months old. And I tried darn near everything. Can't tell you how many books I read. . . Too bad she hadn't read a y of them!

    You look stunning!

Great oufit, and a good idea to have a simple uniform that you can pull on in a rush:)

You look especially fab in #1.

I also like it best without the jacket, but it looks fab both ways. A fantastic MOTG outfit!

Beautiful. You look very polished for a MOTG with a baby. Watercolor prints are becoming a favorite. I love that one.

Stunning. Love the tee on you. So elegant and calm looking. You may not be feeling that way every single moment with a little one crying, but you look it!

Great look. And hope your nap was restful :-)

Great look, Day Vies. I agree this is a very sophisticated MOTG look. That tank is beautiful on you. And, um, you're wearing my colors!

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

Beautiful, soft color and great fits.  You look amazing!

I apologize for my delayed response. DD is sleeping 6 to 9 hours through most of the night. She needs only one feeding and diaper change usually somewhere between 3 and 5 am.
The part that wears me our is when she has what I call "hyper days". These are times when she sleeps for only 15-20 minutes at a time during the entire day. She's usually hungry every 45 min to an hour and needs a diaper change just as often. It's days like this where 1) I need a nap longer than 20 minutes and 2) nothing else gets done.

Ummlila - DD wears mostly onsies and sleep n' play outfits at this point because I can barely remember everything that belongs in her diaper bag. DD will have to squeak by on her charm and good looks.

bj1111 / Thistle - I am counting DD's 2 part approach to night time sleeping as sleeping through the night because when she first got home getting up 3 or 4 times during the night was the norm :-)

Claire - yes they're wedges! I could not wear these jeans without heels. I have long since given up on a perfectly clean house. I just keep the bottles and dishes clean.

Suz - when DD cries (and it's not diaper or bottle related) it's hard to feel pulled together or like I know exactly what I'm doing, but at least this way I can pretend ;-)

Karie - I am really surprised so many agree that they like the jacket off better than on. I guess for me I prefer it on because it looks more finished and off only when the jacket is too hot.

Gardenchick - my nap was restful because DH was home from work and able to look after DD, which gave me a few hours to myself.

Firecracker - I guess these are your colors! I hope you don't mind by borrowing them ;-)

Beth Ann - I think the contrast of the dark blue with the soft shades of gray, lavender and olive is what makes this combination work for me. I am not sure my reason for liking this outfit crystallized until I read your comment
