So DH took me out to dinner it was lovely. I put some effort into getting ready. I decided to try out the column of color formula. All gray was today's choice. I thought the clutch was a nice burst of pastel color.

Abc - I think you may be right I did enjoy my hair today and it's a nice juxtaposition between the monochromatic palette and the wild and free hair.

Agreed 100%. The beautiful drape of the top adds great visual interest. And I love the ton-sur-ton effect with the skinny jeans. Plus light blue always looks brilliant with grey, so that fab pastel clutch was the perfect choice to my eye.

Happy birthday, DV. You do look radiant (as usual). I love the drape and flow of the topper. It's true the color scheme isn't typical for you, but adding some punctuation with color (bag, in this case) was just right. In my opinion, monochromatic looks are awesome. Well done.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes. I had a yummy dinner topped off with sumptuous cheesecake (hot caramel drizzle with peanuts & chocolate!) The only bubbly I had was a glass of ginger ale ;-)
Deborah - I am not surprised that you have a similar top. I actually thought of you and many of the fabulous drape-y outfits you've worn as I was putting this outfit together.
Una - I have worn this top to work before I usually wear it with a slimmer bottom to balance out the volume on top. I completely encourage it. When I bought it last fall it came in gray, white, black, navy, and oxblood. I of course was torn -- what color to get????
Ingunn - Thank you! I am not sure I could have actually done ALL gray -- I really liked the pale aqua against the gray. It seemed to nod toward spring without bring obvious. We got a dusting of snow last night and temperatures in the single digits. Old man winter is still clinging.
Inge - I was completely spoiled last night. I still have some cake left over. I'll be sure to polish the rest off
Vildy- there were a lot of interesting looks, but I was only concerned with where DH was looking ;-)
Suz - I guess I'll have to accept that this look is definitely casual glam. I hadn't thought about it but it seems that casual glam is where I am most comfortable when dressing to go out to dinner. It says that dinner out is an experience for me and I'm enjoying it.

I never shop at Kohl's but I will have to look now... Would love this in a color! I am wearing this today with my EF harem pants. Working on a Sunday I can be a little more casual. I wish I could find a cami with a higher neck... I have the ones with bras in them but they are too bulky sometimes.
