WIW to shop with Mom

Today was a lovely sunny day. I decided to take my Mom up on a visit to the mall. She caught me off guard I had no idea what I was going to wear because I was lounging around the house in my pajamas with no intention of going anywhere. I have been pinning new casual looks trying to figure out different levels of casual for various events.  So this is a test run of this outfit. Tell me what you think. Too dressy for the mall or just right?

BTW...my mother and I had a great time -- shopping with DH is never as fun. It's the little things...

Not too dressy for the mall. Super cute. I like the blue and green together. And the belt is adorable on you. Did you and your mom make some fabulous purchases?

Just right for the mall! DV - you have GOT STYLE!!! Love the purple tights next to the flirty little green skirt.

I think you look great for the mall! I'd certainly give you a second look because it's a fun, cute outfit.

LOVE your outfit, and it is perfect for a casual day at the mall! I had to laugh about it being more fun to shop with mom than with DH. My DH is not a shopper at all, but my mom and I go shopping once a week just for fun!

You are as cute as a button and as playful as a pup in this outfit! A super fun weekend dimension to your stricter week day work look.

    *happy sigh*

Suz -- I replaced my shape wear and got more nude hosiery -- nothing fun for me. Mom bought this super cute linen skirt in white with a high low hem. The front only cam up to mid-calf but the back, dipped pretty low and tapered to a point.  Depending on shoes it might touch the floor. It was a little too boho for me but it's just right for Mom. She's definitely 80% UPW with a dash of steampunk 20%. She wouldn't know those terms but that definitely describes her style.

You look like a major upgrade on my image of a mall shopper! Oh boy, that probably sounds awful. You look amazing, how's that?

You look amazing! You have so much style DV, and it sounds like we know where you got it from! So glad you had a fun day shopping even if you didn't get any "fun" pieces.

I lost the whole post I wrote *sob* It was long :(

Here we go again... This outfit is cute and playful and you do that vibe so well too. Basically, you have very distinctive styles for different occaions (office, going out, fun) which all appeal to me because of three things: you always look like a lady, you have a great way of working color into your wardrobe and you always look so polished. I am happy I don't have to choose my favorite look on you and I'm only sorry I can't comment on each thread - but I am enjoying and admiring them all and taking notes.

I love the way you have a cohesive style persona, with many different iterations.  Your off-days look often includes a lot of playfulness, which you wear with great ease.  This look reminds me of the rehearsal outfits worn by Vera Allen and Rosemary Clooney in "White Christmas."

Your mom sounds like she's amazing!

I absolutely love your style. You always look great.
Your Mom's new skirt sounds amazing too.

Ornella - I am so sorry you lost your post!  That has happened to me on more than one occasion.  :-( But on the bright side at least I got to read what your wrote.

Wow, your outfit looks so cute, love the unexpected but harmonious color combinations. How fun that you got to shop with your mom. And wow, she's a steampunk UWP? I would love to see pics of you together!

What a treat to see you in a shopping outfit. You look adorable. You and your mother must have a great time shopping together.

I love your color combo and will have to study it as I would never think to put those colors together.  And I always love to see your various hairstyles.  They ALL look great.  I can't even manage one good one, lol.
