Yes, I was channeling spring. The yellow sweater was channeling the sun, the print reminiscent of a garden trellis. The weather cooperated at least for a little while this morning; it was sunny and felt at least 60 degrees. So my hopes are raised that soon I'll be able to put away my socks and coats.
Here's what I'm wearing:
BR - yellow tipped sweater
Evan Picone - Essentials blouse
BR - cropped all-season wool trousers (yeah I was surprised they're 95% wool too ;-) )
Ellen Tracy - kitten heels

Suz replied 11 years agoI love the way the print in your shoes echoes the print in your top. And you wear this tipped sweater so well! It is like the one you wore with the purple dress, correct? This is such a rich, organic, free-range egg yolk yellow. It is beautiful and so are you.

nancylee replied 11 years agoI'm in LOVE with this color yellow on you. Gorgeous and so put-together, as always. :)

Day Vies replied 11 years agoSuz, you never disappoint and so observant -- thank you! Yes this is exactly like the sweater I wore with my purple dress. I am a firm believer in multiples why wear out the one piece when your can spread the love in a different color but same fit. If I'd liked the red one with blue trim you'd see that one too, but the hues did not work for me they seemed a little muted.

Free range egg yolk made me chuckle.
You look gorgeous in yellow! So pretty and fresh. The Chanel, style jacket really works for you. Love the patterned top. Another outstanding, super fab outfit! YLF!

Karie replied 11 years agoChannel spring and send some my way! You look as radiant as the sun in that yellow sweater. And those shoes, oh those shoes, I love them!

Angie replied 11 years agoDay Vies, I love the outfit from the knees up and the ankles down! (I have a very hard time with this style of cropped pant, as you know). The shoe pattern bookending is delightful and makes me smile :)

Day Vies replied 11 years agoAngie - I'll be sure to edit the pictures the show only the knees up and ankles down to get that perfect look. I am not sure what I'll do with myself in real life. Perhaps an ankle length coat? (laughing hysterically) :-D

Deborah replied 11 years agoI am going to be super naughty and say I do like the cropped pants :) Hope I won't be sent to the naughty corner.
DV this outfit is so fresh and sophisticated. I just saw a very similar jacket while at lunch, in a soft pink and white and thought of you. -
Day Vies replied 11 years agoDeborah -- there is no such thing as a naughty corner for liking cropped pants :-) (for other things maybe, but not cropped pants!)

Beth Ann replied 11 years agoYou look amazing -- maybe that's why the sun peeked out today!
Love the way you use multiples in your wardrobe, and the combo of blue and yellow is vibrant, but not OTT.

replied 11 years agoHa! ha! this thread had me laughing all the way through with talk of ankles and naughty corners, not to mention eggs ( why am I suddenly hungry?).
I'm a bit on the fence with the pants length; I really can't make up my mind. Suffice to say in every other aspect you look fab. -
Day Vies replied 11 years agoI am not all that affected by this particular pant length. I actually think it was growing up in the 80's where all the kids (and me) were rolling their pants to show their ankles to create a pegged look even if the jeans/pants weren't designed to do that.
I think capri's that end mid-calf are completely unflattering especially if they are boxy (wide). Pants that taper and end somewhere under the calf -- well, that's a different story.

Sara L. replied 11 years agoI love the shoes and blouse together! The yellow is so cheerful and looks great with the darker hues of the pants and blouse.

I am fascinated with the process of getting dressed every day -- to me this is more challenging than getting dressed for a big event because what I wear is dictated by my activities, work environment, and the weather. Living in a climate that guarantees four seasons (or at least two extremes) provides both challenges and inspiration.
